Students must demonstrate mastery in specific Capella Assessment competencies—knowledge, skills, and behaviors aligned with industry expectations. Competency-based learning does not require learners to move at the same pace. Instead, they progress once they can prove they’ve mastered a topic. Assessments are the primary tool used to determine mastery, making them far more than a way to earn a grade—they become evidence of ability.
